Betty Dishman has worked as a reporter and copy editor for two daily newspapers and has also worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer, as a fund raiser and publicity specialist. She currently is a freelance writer specializing in health, education and spirituality, and also works as an administrative assistant at a local university. Betty has a graduate certificate in technology and communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Queens University at Charlotte. Betty is a single mother and enjoys spending time with her son and friends at their home near the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina.
